Korean tourist dies after Tilicho Lake trek

KATHMANDU: A South Korean tourist has tragically lost his life while returning from Tilicho Lake in the Manang district of Nepal.

The incident occurred in the Thoroz Khola area of the Nesyang Rural Municipality-9.

According to Assistant Chief District Officer Yuvraj Aryal, the deceased tourist, identified as Myungok Jong, passed away earlier today.

Police have been deployed to manage the body, and once it is brought to the district headquarters, a decision will be made whether to conduct an autopsy in Chame or send the body to Kathmandu for further examination, Aryal added.
