RPP protest in Balkhu: Shops closed amid Tinkune incident fears
The RPP has assured that the protest and meeting will be peaceful.

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has announced a protest and public meeting in Balkhu on Tuesday.
The event will feature speeches from key leaders, including Party President Rajendra Lingden.
Earlier, on March 28, a gathering organized by the United People’s Movement Committee led by Nawaraj Subedi in Tinkune turned violent before the event could even start.
As a result, security measures in Balkhu have been heightened for Tuesday’s event.
Security has also been intensified around the Nepali Congress office near Balkhu and the Bhatbhateni area.
The RPP has assured that the protest and meeting will be peaceful.
To prevent any disruptions, volunteers have been deployed by the party.
However, local business owners in the area have closed their shops in response.
In the earlier Tinkune incident, shops, houses, and vehicles along the roadside were vandalized, and some party offices were set on fire.
