KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has assured that the government will address the demands of protesting teachers.

Speaking at the Himalayan Dialogue event in Kathmandu on Monday, he expressed his views on the ongoing protests in the country.

He stated that the incidents of protests, arson, and vandalism demonstrate that the country is still in a transitional phase.

He also highlighted the contradictions among various groups with differing views, pointing out a lack of commitment to the Constitution.

Prime Minister Oli called on the protesting teachers to engage in dialogue, emphasizing that the government is ready to address their legitimate demands and that there is no need for protests.

While acknowledging the right to protest and present demands to the government in a democracy, he also stated that unnecessary protests are not justified.
