Rabi Lamichhane sent to jail
After being presented in court and receiving a remand order, Lamichhane is undergoing a health check-up at the district prison.
KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former managing director of Gorkha Media Network, has been presented before the Rupandehi District Court by the police and has been taken to the district prison.
After being presented in court and receiving a remand order, Lamichhane is undergoing a health check-up at the district prison.
Once the health check-up is completed, he will be detained within the prison, as confirmed by Jailor Suresh Bhandari.
Lamichhane, who was arrested in Kathmandu on Friday night, was brought to Bhairahawa on Saturday morning.
After a two-day break, he was held in custody at the Rupandehi District Police Office.
He was arrested following a ruling from the Higher Court of Tulsipur-Butwal, which ordered his detention in connection with a case involving fraud and organized crime related to the Butwal Supreme Cooperative.
