Teen shot in Sunsari; investigation underway

KATHMANDU: A 19-year-old youth, Niraj Rai, was shot by an unidentified group in Sunsari’s Barahkshetra-1, Suryakund on Saturday.

Niraj, who was cutting grass in the jungle, sustained a gunshot wound to his right knee after being struck by a bullet.

He has been injured and is currently receiving treatment at the BP Koirala Health Sciences Institute in Dharan.

Although the exact cause of the shooting remains unclear and the identity of those responsible has not been determined, the police have initiated further investigations.

Initially, authorities speculated that the bullet might have been aimed at wild animals, but the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
