KATHMANDU: Chelsea has moved up to fourth place in the English Premier League after a narrow 1-0 victory over Tottenham, surpassing Manchester City.

The crucial goal came from Enzo Fernandez, giving Chelsea a vital win that enhances their chances of playing in next season’s Champions League.

The win increases pressure on Tottenham’s head coach, Ange Postecoglou, as the team now sits in 14th place. For the first time since 2008, Tottenham faces the possibility of finishing outside the top 10.

Chelsea, strengthened by the return of Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson from injury, dominated the game at Stamford Bridge.

However, despite controlling possession, they were unable to capitalize on numerous chances in the first half, leaving the score level at 0-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Chelsea continued to apply pressure, and in the 50th minute, Fernandez scored with a header from a pinpoint cross by Palmer.

With this win, Chelsea now has 52 points from 30 matches. Defending champions Manchester City trail closely with 51 points, while sixth-place Newcastle United has 50 points.

Tottenham is further behind with 34 points.
