Scorpio used by fugitive Durga Prasai found in Itahari

KATHMANDU: A Scorpio vehicle, registered with the license plate B.B. 4208, used by Durga Prasai, who fled after a violent protest in Kathmandu’s Tinkune area, has been found in Itahari.
The vehicle was seized by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
The police confirmed that the vehicle has been brought to Kathmandu and is now kept at the office’s premises for further investigation.
According to AIG Tek Tamang, the chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office in Ranipokhari, the vehicle used by Prasai to flee Kathmandu was located in Itahari.
Social media videos have shown Prasai hiding inside a store before being escorted to the vehicle by his associates.
Following the discovery of the vehicle in Itahari, there are suspicions that Prasai may have crossed into India.
Meanwhile, Mukunda Dahal, the owner of the vehicle from Kadagahari in Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, has been arrested for questioning.
However, the vehicle was being driven by Ishwar Bika at the time of the incident. According to the driver, Prasai was dropped off at the BNC Hospital in Jhapa before the vehicle was abandoned.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
