KATHMANDU: An incident Makwanpur, where a man lost his life after falling from a cliff and becoming engulfed in a devastating wildfire.

The victim, 49-year-old Akil Bahadur Pakhrin, from Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-1, tragically succumbed to burns caused by the flames.

The fire, which had been raging in a local community forest since Wednesday afternoon, prompted Akil Bahadur to act quickly.

Fearing for the safety of his livestock, he, along with his wife and brother, set out at 11 PM on Wednesday night to check on the fire’s progress.

Sadly, during their inspection, Akil Bahadur fell from the cliff.

Despite a frantic search throughout the night by his wife and brother, the thick smoke and chaotic conditions prevented them from finding him.

The following morning, family members and local residents resumed the search, and, to their sorrow, discovered his lifeless body.

It was found approximately 200 meters below the cliff, severely burned by the intense fire.

Police Inspector Lalita Dhakal of the Bhimphedi Area Police Office confirmed the grim discovery.
