Flight disruptions at TIA due to dense air pollution

KATHMANDU: Flights at Tribhuvan International Airport have been significantly impacted due to severe air pollution, causing low visibility at the airport.

The disruption started early Thursday morning, with thick fog blanketing the area and reducing visibility to dangerous levels.

The Tribhuvan Airport Authority has confirmed that flights are currently operating under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), which allows aircraft to land and take off with minimal visibility.

However, this process is slower than standard operations, leading to delays in flight schedules.

Travelers are advised to check with airlines for real-time updates on flight status, as delays are expected to continue until visibility improves.
