KATHMANDU: Gold prices in the Nepali market have set a new record today. After continuously reaching new highs in recent days, the price of gold decreased on Wednesday.

However, on Thursday, it surged again, increasing by 1,200 Nepali rupees per tola, setting a new record.

According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Entrepreneurs Federation, the price of hallmarked gold reached 180,300 Nepali rupees per tola on Thursday, marking the highest price ever recorded.

On the previous trading day, Wednesday, the price had been 179,100 rupees per tola.

Meanwhile, the price of silver dropped by 25 rupees and is now being traded at 1,995 rupees per tola.

On Wednesday, silver had been traded at 2,220 rupees per tola.
