KATHMANDU: On his official visit to Thailand, Nepal’s Prime Minister, KP Sharma Oli, held an important meeting with senior Thai business leaders in Bangkok today.

Accompanying Prime Minister Oli was a delegation consisting of business leaders, government officials, and representatives from relevant sectors. During the meeting, prominent Thai business figures expressed keen interest in the investment opportunities available in Nepal.
Prime Minister Oli highlighted Nepal’s investor-friendly policies and urged Thai entrepreneurs to invest in the country. He emphasized Nepal’s vast potential for investment in sectors such as tourism, hydropower, agriculture, information technology, and infrastructure development. He also extended an invitation to Thai investors to visit Nepal to explore these opportunities firsthand.
In response, senior Thai business leaders expressed interest in the growing investment environment in Nepal and committed to conducting further studies to explore potential business ventures. They particularly showed interest in investing in Nepal’s hotel and tourism industries. Additionally, they conveyed a strong desire to enhance economic cooperation with Nepal.
Members of the Nepalese business delegation provided insights into the steps taken by the government to improve the investment climate in Nepal. They presented various opportunities within Nepal’s market and engaged in detailed discussions with Thai business leaders about investment security, legal facilitation, and operational ease in Nepal.
