KATHMANDU: A new Nepali film titled Hey Maya is set to be produced, with shooting preparations slated to begin this upcoming Jestha.
The film’s production was officially announced today.
Producer Deepak Lamsal shared that well-known actors will be featured in the film, although while many actors have given verbal consent, written agreements are still pending.
The final cast and crew details are expected to be released soon.
Deepak Lamsal, who has been based in Mumbai for an extended period, has been involved in the coordination of Bollywood and South Indian film releases in Nepal. After years of working on Bollywood films, this marks his first foray into producing a Nepali film.
Hey Maya will be produced under the banner of Real Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., with Junim Gahatraj, the director of the recently released film Tandavam, taking on the directorial role.
Lamsal mentioned that Ghatraj was chosen for the job due to his impressive directorial skills demonstrated in Tandavam.
The screenplay and dialogue for the film are being written by Chakrapani Sankhyal.
As the Nepali New Year begins, the film’s production team is preparing to release the full cast and crew details.
