KATHMANDU: Teachers have organized a rally from various locations in Kathmandu today.

The rally, led by the Teachers’ Federation, was held to demand the implementation of the new School Education Act.

The rally ended at Maitighar Mandala, where it turned into a sit-in protest, as informed by the Federation.

Teachers from across the country have gathered in Kathmandu for this new phase of the movement.

To ensure the protest remains peaceful, 800 volunteers have been deployed.

Nanumaya Parajuli, co-chair of the Federation and coordinator of the movement’s operational committee, stated that today’s rally saw participation from 150,000 teachers and staff, and more teachers and employees are expected to join tomorrow.
