KATHMANDU: The government has urged the general public not to participate in the anarchic demonstrations led by royalists.

On Tuesday, Information and Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung shared the decision made during Monday’s Cabinet meeting.

As the government spokesperson, Gurung emphasized that the Cabinet has asked citizens not to get involved in the disruptive protests led by royalists.

He also condemned the violent demonstration held by royalists at Tinkune on Friday, informing that the government has decided to ensure prompt treatment for the injured and take strict action against the perpetrators.

Following the royalist protests in various parts of Kathmandu last Friday, two people, including a journalist, lost their lives.
