Nepal’s ambassador to Portugal presents credentials to President de Sousa
The ceremony took place on Monday at the Belem Palace, the official residence of the President in Lisbon.

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s newly appointed Ambassador to Portugal, Prakash Mani Poudel, has presented his credentials to President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The ceremony took place on Monday at the Belem Palace, the official residence of the President in Lisbon.
Following the presentation of his credentials, Ambassador Poudel had a courtesy meeting with President de Sousa.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing bilateral relations between Nepal and Portugal, as well as ways to further promote mutual interests and cooperation.
On the occasion, President de Sousa congratulated Ambassador Poudel and wished him success in his tenure.
The discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral ties, trade, tourism, and the establishment of a Portuguese embassy in Nepal.
The ceremony was attended by Portugal’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nuno Sampaio, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Francisco Ribeiro Teles, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Poudel’s wife Rupa Poudel, and Second Secretary of the Nepali Embassy, Ram Babu Nepal, among others.
Ambassador Poudel, who was appointed as Nepal’s Ambassador to Portugal in December, arrived in Portugal to take up his duties on March 6th.
