KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, along with other party leaders, met with Speaker Devraj Ghimire on Tuesday morning at the Speaker’s office in Singha Durbar.
The meeting aimed to put pressure on the Speaker to lift the suspension imposed on Lamichhane.
The leaders held discussions with Speaker Ghimire regarding the lifting of Lamichhane’s suspension.
One month ago, the party had submitted a memorandum to the Speaker, requesting the revocation of Lamichhane’s suspension, but no action had been taken on the matter so far.
Following the lack of response, RSP’s acting spokesperson, Manish Jha, confirmed that the party delegation had visited the Speaker once again.
On Monday, Lamichhane had attended the party office for the first time in six months and chaired a meeting as the party president.
In his address, Lamichhane remarked, “The state has inflicted suffering on me as a political vendetta, but I am still alive, and this is my victory.”
