KATHMANDU: The final meeting of the current session of the House of Representatives is scheduled to take place today at 11:00 AM.

During the meeting, a series of important reports and bills are expected to be presented.

On behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the Sixth Annual Reports (2079/80 and 2080/81) of the National Inclusive Commission and the Muslim Commission will be tabled in the session.

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, will propose a discussion on the Nepal Aviation Authority Bill, 2081.

Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, will propose the consideration of the Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080, for amendments in the National Assembly.

Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Bidhya Bhattrai, will present a proposal for discussion and passage of the Shahid Dashrath Chand Health Science University Bill, 2080.

Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, will propose the discussion and passage of the Water Resources Bill, 2081, along with the Infrastructure Development Committee’s report.

The government has already decided to conclude the current parliamentary session. The Cabinet, which convened last night, has recommended ending the session at midnight tonight.

According to constitutional provisions, the President will dissolve the session based on the government’s recommendation.

This session marks the conclusion of several months of legislative proceedings, and with the formal closure, it paves the way for the government to focus on upcoming priorities.
