KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to embark on an official visit to Thailand on Tuesday afternoon.

During his visit, he will participate in the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

According to the Prime Minister’s private secretariat, Oli will meet with journalists at the VIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport at 12:30 PM on Tuesday before departing for Thailand.

He will attend the BIMSTEC summit and deliver an address during the event.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Nepal on Saturday, the April 5.

The visit is being made at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Before his departure, Prime Minister Oli held discussions with several prominent leaders, including former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, former Chair of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, and several former foreign ministers.

The Cabinet of Nepal approved the delegation for the visit to Thailand and the BIMSTEC summit on the 11th of March 24.
