KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, the chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has returned to his party duties after a period of absence.
Lamichhane had been arrested on Oct 18 in connection with a cooperative scam and had stepped down from his party responsibilities.
However, on Monday, the second meeting of the party’s central committee was convened under his leadership.
Prior to the meeting, Lamichhane addressed his supporters outside the party office in Banasthali, where he boldly declared that he would not be intimidated by anyone, even if a sword was placed over his head.
He emphasized that he was not involved in politics for personal gain, stating, “I did not enter politics to sit idly by where there is fire, but to take action.” During his speech, Lamichhane also accused the government of trying to protect corrupt individuals.
