KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) held a protest at Maitighar Mandala on Monday, demanding the unconditional release of party leaders and activists who were arrested during the demonstration.
The protest was organized in response to the arrests made during the March 28 protest, where senior party leaders, including RPP Vice President Rabindra Mishra and General Secretary Dr. Dhawal Samsher JB Rana, were accused of inciting violence.
The government has filed charges and arrested several protesters in connection with the incident.
Protesters have called for the immediate release of RPP leaders and other nationalist figures who they claim have been falsely implicated.
They also demanded that the government declare the deceased as martyrs, conduct a fair investigation into the incident, and that the incompetent government resign.
Protesters carried placards with slogans such as “Declare the deceased martyrs,” “Ensure a just investigation,” and “Incompetent government resign!”
