KATHMANDU: The mortal remains of Kamal Koirala, a central advisory council member of the CPN (Unified Socialist), have been placed at the party’s central office for the public to pay tribute.

On Monday, Koirala’s body was kept at the party headquarters for the final farewell.

Koirala, a journalist, writer, and diplomat, passed away at the age of 87 after suffering a stroke. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment, where he passed away during the course of his medical care.

Party leaders and activists have gathered in large numbers at the office to pay their respects. CPN (Unified Socialist) President Madhav Kumar Nepal, who visited to offer his condolences, stated that Koirala’s role in Nepal’s communist movement was significant.

He emphasized that Koirala’s resilience in facing challenges was something that should be learned from.

President Nepal also praised Koirala for being an exemplary figure among journalists.
