KATHMANDU: On Friday, two individuals lost their lives during a pro-monarchy demonstration in Kathmandu.
In response, Maoist Center MP Rekha Sharma has demanded that these two individuals be declared martyrs.
Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Sharma emphasized the need for swift legal action against those involved in the pro-monarchy movement.
Sharma also expressed her concern over the removal of Kulman Ghising from the position of Managing Director at the Nepal Electricity Authority, raising objections to the government’s actions.
She accused the government of siding with middlemen rather than focusing on public development.
The deaths of journalist Suresh Rajak and Kirtipur resident Sabin Maharjan during the pro-monarchy protests have sparked controversy.
Sharma also made it clear that her party would continue to oppose any actions by the government that they deem wrong.
