KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary, Bishwaprakash Sharma, stated that the government made a mistake by removing the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising.
Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Sharma expressed that Ghising should have been allowed to continue his work for the remaining term, and the government’s decision to remove him was a mistake.
He also questioned why Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli responded in the House regarding a case that is currently under judicial review, stating that it was inappropriate to discuss a matter under judicial consideration in the parliament.
In a separate comment, Sharma spoke about the damages caused during the Tinkune incident by the royalist group, expressing sympathy for the financial and human losses everywhere, but remarked that the Nirmal Niwas was not concerned about the situation.
Sharma emphasized that under no circumstances should the monarchy be considered an alternative to the republic.
He added that the frustrations of the people should be addressed through the democratic system, working to resolve the problems faced by the public.
