Leaders extend warm Eid-ul-Fitr greetings

KATHMANDU: Former President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has extended her heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the grand festival that marks the end of Ramadan.
In her message, Former President Bhandari expressed her belief that the celebration of Eid would foster greater mutual love and harmony within families and society.
“Warm greetings to all Nepali Muslim sisters and brothers on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion after the holy month of Ramadan,” her message reads.
Sher Bahadur Deuba, President of the Nepali Congress (NC) and former Prime Minister, stated that the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr by the Muslim community has played an important role in promoting religious tolerance and harmony in Nepali society.
In his Eid-ul-Fitr message, President Deuba expressed the hope that this festival would inspire peace, harmony, and prosperity in the country.
He emphasized that Nepal is a diverse nation, home to multiple ethnicities, languages, cultures, and religions, each with its own unique traditions, customs, and festivals. “Unity in diversity is the hallmark of Nepali identity, and we take pride in respecting and celebrating each other’s festivals,” Deuba said in his message.
President Deuba extended his best wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all Muslim sisters and brothers both within Nepal and abroad on this auspicious occasion.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also conveyed his warm wishes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, a sacred festival for the Muslim community.
Through a social media post, Prime Minister Oli expressed his greetings to all, acknowledging that Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated after a month of fasting. “Eid-ul-Fitr, a significant and holy festival for Muslims, has been observed today with the conclusion of the month-long fast,” his message stated.
Prime Minister Oli emphasized that the tradition of strengthening relationships between communities through this festival makes it even more meaningful.
