KATHMANDU: Nawaraj Subedi, who is leading the united movement of royalists, is currently under house arrest.

Following the disruptive protests organized by royalists on the March 28, the government placed him under house arrest at his residence.

At present, Subedi’s home in Guhyeshwari is occupied by his wife, son, and three other close relatives.

All of them have been strictly prohibited from leaving the house. Security personnel have been stationed outside his residence, enforcing strict control over any movement in the vicinity.

They have even prohibited people from taking photos near the house.

A family source revealed, “We are told that once we leave the house, we won’t be allowed to return. However, we are allowed to step out once to buy vegetables and other essential items.”

According to the source, the police have switched off Subedi’s mobile phone and stored it in one place.

He has not been allowed to use his phone. However, the internet at his residence has not been disconnected.

Some political leaders who attempted to visit his home yesterday were turned away by security personnel.
