NEPSE sees a 1.11% increase on the first trading day of the week

KATHMANDU: On the first trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a rise of 1.11%.

The NEPSE index increased by 29.82 points, reaching 2,693.12 points.

A total of 323 companies saw the trading of 15,572,862 shares in 76,354 transactions, amounting to a turnover of Rs 7.568 billion.

While the Mutual Fund subgroup and the Trading group saw minor declines of 0.15% and 0.26%, respectively, all other sectors experienced growth.

The Finance group rose by 2.01%, the Investment group by 2.18%, and other sectors saw a growth of 2.08%.

Notable performers included the Banking and Finance sectors, both seeing an increase of 0.82%.

The Hotel and Tourism sector surged by 1.41%, Hydroelectric by 1.54%, Life Insurance by 0.85%, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.58%, Microfinance by 0.62%, and Non-life Insurance by 0.78%.

The biggest gain was seen by Joshi Hydropower Development Company Limited, whose stock price rose by an impressive 9.97%.

On the other hand, Prabhu Smart Fund experienced the most significant drop, with its stock price falling by 5.79%.

In terms of trading volume, Himalayan Reinsurance Limited led the market, with a turnover of Rs 691.98 million.

The highest number of shares traded was seen in Nepal Investment Mega Bank Promoter Shares, with 850,809 shares bought and sold.
