KATHMANDU: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce has expressed its objection to the vandalism, arson, and looting that took place during the protest in the Tinkune area on Friday, which affected both private and public property as well as media organizations.

The Chamber emphasized that such unruly activities would further devastate the economy and urged for restraint.

It also pointed out that the rights of ordinary citizens and entrepreneurs to conduct their businesses had been violated during the protest.

The private sector has also demanded compensation for the victims of the incident.

The Chamber’s statement condemned the damage to both public and private property, including media outlets, and called for the victims of Friday’s events to receive appropriate compensation.

The Chamber strongly denounced such violent acts and demanded that the perpetrators be held accountable.

Previously, umbrella organizations of the private sector, including the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Nepal Industries Association, also demanded action against the culprits and compensation for the victims.
