Real Madrid secures hard-fought victory against Leganés

KATHMANDU: Real Madrid achieved a tough 3-2 win over Leganés, who are battling relegation in La Liga, on Saturday.

Kylian Mbappé scored a decisive hat-trick, leading Real Madrid to the victory. Jude Bellingham also netted a goal for the hosts, while Leganés’ Diego García and Dani Raba found the back of the net for the visitors.

The match saw an early breakthrough in the 32nd minute when Mbappé converted a penalty, giving Real Madrid the lead.

However, just two minutes later, García equalized for Leganés. In the 41st minute, Raba gave Leganés the lead, but Real Madrid responded quickly in the 47th minute with Bellingham’s equalizer. In the 76th minute, Mbappé sealed the win with his third goal.

Real Madrid is currently in second place in the standings, tied with Barcelona at 63 points, though they have played one extra game.

Leganés remains third from the bottom of the table, struggling against relegation.

In other matches, Rayo Vallecano defeated Alavés 2-0, Real Sociedad won 2-1 against Valladolid, and Atlético Madrid was held to a 1-1 draw by Espanyol.

Atlético Madrid is in third place with 57 points.
