On the same day, leaders from other political parties, including Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, President of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Netra Bikram Chand, General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party, and Mahindra Rai Yadav, Chair of the Nepal Socialist Party, visited the party office to gather information about the damages.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak stated that the attacks and killings carried out by royalists would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Speaking to the media at the party’s central office in Aloknagar on Saturday, Home Minister Lekhak reaffirmed his commitment to investigate and take legal action against those responsible for causing harm to public and private property.

During the royalist protests in Thamel on Friday, two people lost their lives, and both public and private property was damaged.

The protestors also vandalized the office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and set it on fire.

During his inspection, Home Minister Lekhak condemned the violent actions of the royalists, stating that their behavior had no connection to any political ideology, principles, or values.

He described Friday’s protest not as a demonstration but as a criminal act.

Minister Lekhak further noted that the attackers acted brutally and inhumanely, setting fire to homes while knowing that people were inside.

As a result, one journalist lost his life, and another person died after the police were forced to use force in defense of public safety.

The Home Minister expressed condolences for the deceased and wished for a speedy recovery for the injured.

He also mentioned that the royalists attacked media houses, the homes and party offices of pro-republican political leaders, destroyed both private and government property, and even targeted shopping complexes.

He assured that the government would investigate these actions and ensure appropriate legal action is taken against the perpetrators.
