KATHMANDU: A woman armed police officer was injured during a demonstration led by the pro-monarchy group, headed by Durga Prasai, in Kathmandu’s Tinkune area, where they called for the restoration of the monarchy.

The protest turned chaotic, resulting in the woman police officer sustaining a head injury.

The situation escalated further with incidents of vandalism, including stone-pelting and arson at nearby homes.

Currently, Tinkune is on high alert, with police taking measures to control the unrest. Authorities have used tear gas and even fired warning shots into the air to maintain order.
