Royalist protest turns chaotic, police fire warning shots

KATHMANDU: In Kathmandu’s Tinkune area, a royalist protest turned chaotic, leading the police to fire warning shots in the air.

The protest escalated when demonstrators pelted stones at a fire truck that had arrived to extinguish a blaze in a nearby house.

Initially, the police used tear gas to disperse the crowd, but eventually resorted to firing warning shots.

Prior to this, the royalists had also vandalized homes in the area.
