SC denies interim order for Ghising’s reinstatement as NEA Executive Director
In a preliminary hearing on Friday, the Supreme Court directed that the government’s stance on the matter should also be heard.

KATHMANDU: Kulman Ghising, who approached the Supreme Court seeking an interim order for reinstatement as the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), was denied such an order by the Court.
In a preliminary hearing on Friday, the Supreme Court directed that the government’s stance on the matter should also be heard.
Justice Abdul Ajiz Musalman’s single bench announced that a hearing would be scheduled for Sunday after the initial arguments were made.
The case was brought to the Supreme Court after the government appointed Hitendradev Shakya as the new Executive Director of the NEA.
Both Ghising and Shakya had filed petitions, and the court decided to hear their cases together on Sunday.
After the denial of the interim order, Hiten Dev Shakya is set to proceed with his work as the new Executive Director in the meantime.
This follows a decision by the Cabinet last Monday to remove Ghising from the position and appoint Shakya in his place.
Ghising, disagreeing with the decision, filed a petition with the Supreme Court, claiming his removal was unlawful and requesting his reinstatement through an interim order.
