KATHMANDU: A scuffle broke between royalist supporters and the police at the Tinkune area of Kathmandu today.

The confrontation occurred when the police attempted to stop a demonstration led by Durga Prasai, a prominent royalist figure.

Protesters, under Prasai’s leadership, tried to break through the police barricades and march toward Bhaneswor.

This led to a brief clash between the demonstrators and the police. However, the situation is currently under control, with normalcy restored in the area.

The demonstration, led by medical professional Durga Prasai, is part of the ‘Nation, Nationalism, Religion, Culture, and Citizens’ Protection Grand Campaign.’

Prasai’s movement, alongside the ‘Joint People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of the Monarchy’ led by Nawaraj Subedi, was granted permission by the local administration to hold the protest at the Tinkune area.
