KATHMANDU: The Socialist Front will hold a demonstration at Bhirkutimandap, Kathmandu, against corruption and issues related to the constitution.

However, Nepal’s Unified Socialist Party leader, Jhalanath Khanal, has announced that he will not be attending the protest.

The front’s constituent parties will lead rallies from various locations across the city.

The Unified Socialist Party’s rally will depart from Maitidevi and Shanti Batika.

Khanal, a former Prime Minister, explained to Makalu Khabar that he was not invited to speak at the event, and therefore did not deem it appropriate to attend.

He added that despite not being physically present, he fully supports the cause and will be observing the event from home.

The event will feature speeches from the party leaders, including Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chair of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chair of the Unified Socialist Party, Netra Bikram Chand, General Secretary of the CPN, and Mahindra Ray Yadav, Chair of the Nepal Socialist Party.

The speeches will be the main agenda for the gathering.
