Woman held for fraudulent overseas job scheme promising high salary in Bulgaria

KATHMANDU: A 57-year-old woman, Asha Pariyar, from Birtamode Municipality-4, Jhapa, has been arrested by the police on charges of fraud.

Pariyar allegedly promised to send two victims to Bulgaria for overseas employment with attractive salaries but instead took a total of 2 lakh rupees from them and went out of contact.

The victims filed a complaint, which led to an investigation by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku.

Acting on the complaint, the police tracked down Pariyar and arrested her from Kirtipur Municipality-9 on Thursday.

Following her arrest, Pariyar has been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal action.
