Opposition parties have been blocking Parliament over the government’s decision to remove the Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, which has led to the disruption of the regular functioning of the sessions.
Speaker Devaraj Ghimire held discussions with the Chief Whips of all parties yesterday throughout the day, but no agreement was reached.
The opposition parties insist that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli should provide clarification in Parliament regarding the decision to remove Ghising.
However, Prime Minister Oli has stated that there is no justification for him to answer in Parliament about the government’s decision.
Due to the ongoing deadlock between the ruling and opposition parties, it remains uncertain whether the Parliament session will proceed as scheduled.
