KATHMANDU: Today, top political leaders were seen on the same stage, including Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN-Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda.’
The leaders participated in a national conference focused on transitional justice and the rights of conflict victims.
The conference, titled “National Conference on Nepal’s Transitional Justice Process and the Right to Truth, Justice, and Reparation for Conflict Victims,” was attended by UN Resident Coordinator Hana Singer, Members of Parliament, and representatives of conflict victims, among others.
Prachanda, citing time constraints, delivered his speech before leaving the event early.
The conference is being held at the Everest Hotel in Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
Just days earlier, the three leaders had reached an agreement to appoint officials for the transitional justice mechanisms.
This gathering marks a significant moment in Nepal’s ongoing efforts to address the impacts of its conflict and ensure justice for those affected.
