Advance bookings open for movie ‘Dorii’

KATHMANDU: The Nepali film Dorii is set to hit theaters this Friday, and advance ticket bookings have already begun.

The country’s largest multiplex chain, QFX Cinemas, started bookings across its theaters from Wednesday, with other cinemas following suit.

According to distributor Rohit Kattel, all bookings are expected to be open by Thursday afternoon, and the final number of shows will be confirmed. He mentioned that the film will have approximately 120 shows nationwide.

Furthermore, Dorii has received a “PG” certificate from the Central Film Censor Board.

The film was censored on Wednesday evening and will be accessible to viewers aged 16 and above, with younger children allowed to watch it only with parental guidance.

Directed by Arun Lama, Dorii is a blend of social themes with elements of humor, thrill, and horror. Lama believes that the storyline will resonate with the audience, as it reflects aspects of everyday life that people can relate to.

The screenplay and direction of Dorii are by Arun Lama, who also stars in the lead role.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Praveen Khatwada, Shishir Bangdel, Prakash Ghirmire, Anjana Baraily, Raj Poudel, Kavita Ale, Nutan, Raj Thapa, Birendra Singh Kushwaha, Sharda Adhikari, Prem Subba, Sajan Shrestha, and Ram Babu Regmi, among others.

The film is produced by Dinesh Bhattarai and executive producer Raj Thapa.

The script was written by Dr. Manoj Pandit, with key crew members including assistant director Dinesh Bahadur Rawat, action director Raju Tamang, music director Rajan Raj Siwakoti, cinematographer Saurabh Lama, art director Roshan Diwana, editor Milan Shrestha, and color coordinator Renish Fago.

With its unique mix of genres and talented cast and crew, Dori is expected to be a major hit in Nepal’s film industry.
