NIC Asia Bank inaugurates library at Siddhartha Secondary School

KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has inaugurated a library building at Siddhartha Secondary School, located in Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, Parsa District, Province-2.

This library is one of several that the bank has constructed in community schools across the country.

The primary goal of this initiative is to provide essential educational resources to students, support teaching and learning, and create an excellent academic environment at the school.

In collaboration with the respective schools, NIC Asia Bank has constructed and handed over the library building, which was officially inaugurated on 12th Chaitra 2081.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Principal of the school, Mr. Binod Mehta, the Deputy PAE (Province-2) of NIC Asia Bank, Mr. Amit KC, along with other representatives from the bank and the school.

With the opening of the library, nearly 1,500 students and teachers at the school will directly benefit from its resources.

Earlier, the bank had inaugurated and handed over libraries to various schools across Nepal, including:

  • Birendra Adarsha Secondary School, Chitwan District, Bagmati Province

  • Shri Public Secondary School, Rupandehi District, Lumbini Province

  • Bala Sundari Secondary School, Siraha District, Madhesh Province

  • Pabitra Secondary School, Tanahu District, Gandaki Province

  • Mohanyal Secondary School, Kailali District, Sudurpashchim Province

  • Adarsha Secondary School, Jhapa District, Koshi Province

  • Gauriganj Secondary School, Jhapa District, Koshi Province

The total budget allocated for the construction of these libraries is Rs 20.53 million (approximately USD 150,000).

After the completion of these library buildings, more than 11,000 students in the respective schools will directly benefit from this initiative.

The libraries will enhance the availability of educational resources, which is expected to improve students’ academic performance and contribute significantly to their overall personality development.
