KATHMANDU: The parliamentary session of Nepal’s House of Representatives was adjourned due to ongoing disruptions by opposition parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre).
The session, scheduled for 11 a.m., could not proceed due to opposition members obstructing the proceedings and has now been postponed until tomorrow (Thursday).
Previously, Speaker Devraj Ghimire had repeatedly appealed to opposition lawmakers to create a conducive environment for the functioning of the House.
However, despite his efforts, the session was blocked.
At the start of Wednesday’s session, opposition members raised protests against the government’s dismissal of Kulman Ghising as the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, leading to a disruption in the proceedings.
