KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Committee has passed a bill to amend and consolidate customs laws.

The meeting of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday passed the Bill to Amend and Consolidate Customs Laws.

Prior to this, the draft report of the bill was discussed and passed in the committee.

Committee Chair Santosh Chalise, while announcing the decision of the meeting, informed that the committee had passed the bill to amend and consolidate customs laws.

He further mentioned that the committee had decided to request the Speaker of the House for time to present the bill to the House of Representatives.

He stated, “We are continuously working on the bill. We will meet in other sessions as well. I propose to pass this report with suggestions. The report has been passed, and we will request the Honorable Speaker for time to present it in the House of Representatives. We have passed the bill today.”

The bill, which has been under discussion for a long time in the committee, was finally passed today after thorough deliberation.
