Fire ravages home in Salyan, causing over Rs 7 lakh losses

KATHMANDU: A fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit in Salyan, destroying the house of 36-year-old Bishnu Kumai from Kumakh Rural Municipality-5, Jharkanda, Salyan.

According to Inspector Resham Bahadur Khatri of the Salyan District Police Office, the fire destroyed food supplies, clothes, utensils, important documents, two tolas of gold, and 70,000 rupees in cash.
The total loss caused by the fire has been estimated at 745,000 rupees.
After the fire broke out, the family members fled the house.
With the help of locals and the police, the electricity line was cut, and the fire was brought under control about an hour and a half later.
The affected family is currently staying with relatives.
