Shangrila Plywood Factory fire still uncontained after 32 hours

KATHMANDU: A fire that erupted at the Shangrila Plywood Factory in Khaira, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-9, Dang is still not fully contained.
Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Lamsal reported that despite continuous efforts for over 32 hours, the fire has not been completely controlled.
He mentioned that around 90 percent of the blaze has been managed, but full containment is delayed due to the presence of flammable materials, including chopped wood, at the factory, which are complicating firefighting efforts.
Lamsal stated, “The security team is working tirelessly around the clock to control the fire.”
Tractors are being used to transport water, while fire engines from Dang, Kapilvastu, Banke, and Bardiya districts have been deployed to assist in extinguishing the fire, which began at 2 PM on Sunday.
