Police seize over 2 lakh worth of smuggled Indian liquor
The liquor was recovered by a police team from the New Bus Park Police Post on Sunday.

KATHMANDU: Police in Butwal have seized Indian liquor worth over 2 lakh rupees, which was smuggled into Nepal.
According to the Rupandehi District Police Office, 240 bottles of Indian liquor, amounting to a total of 2 lakh 40 thousand rupees, were found abandoned in 20 cartons at the bus park in Butwal-9.
The liquor was recovered by a police team from the New Bus Park Police Post on Sunday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Indra Bahadur Rana of the Butwal Police said that the liquor was discovered during a routine inspection of a passenger bus that had arrived in Butwal from the Belahiya border area in Rupandehi.
As per the law, only companies and firms with an excise permit are authorized to import foreign liquor by paying the appropriate customs duties.
