KATHMANDU: England continued their winning streak in the World Cup qualifiers with a dominant 3-0 victory over Latvia at Wembley on Monday.

This marked Thomas Tuchel’s second consecutive win as England’s head coach.

The match was a challenge for England, as Latvia is ranked 140th in the FIFA standings.

However, Chelsea captain Reece James opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a stunning free-kick from nearly 20 yards out.

This goal marked James’ first for England since September 2022.

England’s captain, Harry Kane, doubled the lead in the 68th minute, finishing off a cross from Declan Rice.

This goal was Kane’s 71st in 105 international appearances, further cementing his legacy as England’s all-time top scorer.

In the 76th minute, a goal from Eberechi Eze, his first for England, sealed the win for the Three Lions, making the victory comfortable.

Under Tuchel, England became the first team to win their first two competitive matches since Fabio Capello in 2008.

With this win, England leads Group K with 6 points, followed by Albania and Latvia with 3 points each. Serbia and Andorra remain without any points.
