KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor, Balen Shah, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the government through a post on his Facebook.

He raised concerns about the cleaning staff of the municipality who have not received their salaries for the past three months, and he warned of serious consequences if the issue is not resolved promptly.

In his post, Balen stated, “I don’t know who will lead the protest, but if our employees do not receive their salaries within a week, I will bury them in a pit. After that, let’s see what your system can do!”

His remarks have highlighted the growing tension between the government and local authorities.

This is not the first time Balen has made bold statements; earlier, he had even threatened to set fire to Singha Durbar, Nepal’s government headquarters, which gained significant media attention.
