3 injured as petrol depot catches fire in S. Afghanistan

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan: Three people, including a firefighter, were injured as a petrol depot caught fire in Kandahar city of southern Afghanistan’s Kandahar province on Sunday night, provincial police spokesman Mullah Assadullah Jamshid said Monday.

The accident took place in the Police District 5 of the city and left three individuals injured when they were attempting to extinguish the fire, the official added.

According to the official, the fire also inflicted property damage worth 15 million afghani (212,766 U.S. dollars) before snuffed out.
