KATHMANDU: Madhav Prasad Chamlagain has been elected as the Chair of the National Democratic Disabled Association, affiliated with the Nepali Congress.

He secured 351 votes to win the presidency.

In the association’s first General Convention, held on Chait 8 and 9, Chamlagai defeated his closest rival, Bikash Thapa, who received 88 votes. Another presidential candidate, Kalpana Khadka, garnered 13 votes.

The elected office bearers include Anita Ghimire Gaire as Vice Chair (Women), Uday Bahadur Limbu as Vice Chair (Open), Kiren Kumar Paswan as General Secretary, and Ganesh Bahadur Khatri as Treasurer.
