Landslide blocks Besisahar-Chame road
Baburam Tamang from Chamche stated that the landslide has rendered the road impassable, halting the movement of vehicles and people.

KATHMANDU: A landslide triggered by a dry debris flow near the Octopus Waterfall in Chame, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4 of Lamjung, has blocked the Besisahar-Chame road.
According to local sources and police reports, the landslide occurred around 12 PM on Monday, sweeping away part of the road near a box cutting, and causing a disruption to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Baburam Tamang from Chamche stated that the landslide has rendered the road impassable, halting the movement of vehicles and people.
DSP Resham Bohara from the District Police Office confirmed that the police were immediately dispatched to the site following reports of the landslide.
He further mentioned that efforts to clear the debris using a breaker and other machinery have already begun.
As a result of the landslide, vehicles heading from Manang to Lamjung and those traveling from Besisahar to Manang are now stuck on either side of the debris.
The site of the landslide is located approximately 32 kilometers from Bensi Sahar, the district headquarters of Lamjung, towards Manang.
Authorities are working to reopen the road as soon as possible.
