Nischal Basnet records new song for upcoming movie ‘Mahabhoj’
The song features lyrics by Hark Saud and music composed by Ketan Kshetri.

KATHMANDU: Renowned director, actor, and singer Nischal Basnet has recorded a new song for the highly anticipated Nepali film Mahabhoj, which is set to release on Jeth 15 (May 29).
Recently, Basnet recorded the song titled Lalumai at a studio in Kathmandu.
The song features lyrics by Hark Saud and music composed by Ketan Kshetri.
The movie Mahabhoj is directed by the popular filmmaker Dinesh Raut, who is well known for his creative and impactful storytelling.
Interestingly, it was Raut’s 2017 film Pahiro that introduced Basnet to the audience as ‘Kale Dai,’ thanks to the hit song Kale Dai in which Basnet lent his voice and performed a dance sequence alongside actress Mala Limbu.
The song became an instant hit and has garnered over 63 million views on YouTube to date.
According to Director Dinesh Raut, Nischal Basnet was the perfect fit for the vocals in Lalumai, given his unique vocal tone. Raut shared, “When Nischal sang for Pahiro 8 years ago, it was an entirely different experience. Now, for Lalumai, we needed a distinct vocal tone, and Nischal was the ideal choice once again.”
Nischal Basnet, who was previously known for his role in Kale Dai, is now set to introduce a new identity to the audience with Lalumai. Raut confidently claims that this new song will offer a fresh musical experience for viewers.
Mahabhoj is Director Dinesh Raut’s eighth film, following his recent success with Pujar Sarki.
